TrueNAS
Surface TrueNAS ZFS pool health, disk temperatures, alerts, and RAIDZ redundancy in FreeSDN's Storage module, with staged blob writes via the Fabric module. Preview tier.
Preview: read-only ZFS health plus staged blob writes via the Fabric module; verified live but not through the gold-standard audit.
The TrueNAS adapter provides read-only ZFS storage health for the Storage module: pool health, disk status and temperatures, active alerts, and RAIDZ redundancy. Modern TrueNAS SCALE (25.x and 26.0) is reached over a WebSocket JSON-RPC transport; older SCALE and CORE use the REST API, and the adapter selects the right one on connect. It also lets TrueNAS serve as the backend for FreeSDN's store-blob operation (wired through the Fabric module, for example to persist camera snapshots and event artifacts) on SCALE 25.04+, while user-facing ZFS CRUD remains on the roadmap. It is a Preview-tier adapter, verified live against a real SCALE system but not yet through the gold-standard audit.

TrueNAS capabilities
Health at a glance
Pool health, disk temperatures, RAIDZ redundancy, and active alerts roll up into the Storage module, so a degraded array or a hot disk is visible next to the rest of your infrastructure.
Transport auto-selection
Modern SCALE (25.x and 26.0) connects over a WebSocket JSON-RPC channel; older SCALE and CORE use the REST API. The adapter picks the right transport when it connects.
- Modern SCALE connects over WebSocket JSON-RPC; older SCALE and CORE use REST, selected automatically.
- Authenticates with a TrueNAS API key or credentials stored encrypted.
- Staged blob writes are wired for FreeSDN's store-blob operation (via the Fabric module) on SCALE 25.04+; user-facing ZFS CRUD (datasets and snapshots) is on the roadmap.

- Staged blob writes (Fabric store-blob); ZFS CRUD on roadmap
- ZFS health is read-only; staged blob writes (the store-blob operation, consumed by the Fabric module) are wired on SCALE 25.04+, but user-facing ZFS CRUD (dataset and snapshot operations) is on the roadmap.
- Verified live against a real SCALE system (RAIDZ3 with a hot-disk alert), but not yet through the gold-standard audit.
